Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry Programs
The Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry offers a special program called Kids First which provides food to families with school age children during the summer months. Many families receive free or reduced price breakfast and lunch during the school year, but this help is not available during the summer. The Kids First program provides the added food items to help replace those meals.
During July and August, the food pantry opens on four dates specifically to provide food for the Kids First program. If in need, parents or caregivers can come to the Americal Civic Center, 467 Main Street in Wakefield to pick up breakfast and lunch foods such as: pancake mix, maple syrup, bagels, cream cheese, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, vanilla wafers, pizza, chicken nuggets, freeze pops, yogurt, string cheese, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. Please note that these food items include such name brands as Aunt Jemima, Annie's Mac&Cheese, Skippy Peanut Butter, Ellio's Pizza and Tyson chicken.
