Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry Hosts Savers Donation Drive 2016

The Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry (WIFP) is hosting a drive, but it’s not for food!  The Pantry was asked by Donation Savers to host a drive to collect:

  • Clothing
  • Shoes
  • Accessories
  • Books
  • Linens
  • Small household items

Savers, Inc. is a privately held global thrift retailer. Through its unique business model of purchasing, reselling and recycling secondhand merchandise, the Savers family of thrift stores benefits more than 150 nonprofit organizations, give local consumers a smart way to shop, and saves more than 600 million pounds of quality used goods from landfills each year. In fact, the Wakefield Food Pantry will receive donations from Savers, Inc. for every qualifying pound of items received during the drive.  For more information, please visit www.savers.com.

“We are delighted to help support  the Savers organization just as so many people and organizations in Wakefield support the food pantry,” said Maureen Miller, Director of Operations at the WIFP.

There are three dates on which you can drop your contributions off at the food pantry, located at the Americal Civic Center (lower level), 467 Main Street in Wakefield.

  • Saturday, November 19 from 9 am to 12 pm
  • Wednesday, November 30 from 6 pm to 8 pm
  • Saturday, December 3 from 9 am to 12 pm
