The children of the Greenwood School ran a “Helping with Hot Chocolate” stand outside the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish to raise money for Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry . A HUGE thank you to the Kennedy family and Honey Dew Donuts for donating the coffee and hot chocolate. Thank you everyone who stopped by to help our neighbors in need!
Fall is in the air. The kids are back to school. And, we have an urgent need to stock our shelves.
We’ve begun our 2nd and 4th Saturday food drives which are supported by many town organizations and individuals throughout the year. On Saturday, September 13 the Wakefield Marching Band took the lead and helped us collect and sort food. Please come by the Pantry and drop off your food donations.
We also have donation boxes at the Town Hall, the Police Station, Walgreens as well as the Greenwood and Lakeside Savings Banks. Our library is getting into to the mix and has set up a receptacle for non-perishable food items soon. How convenient! Drop off or pick up books and leave your groceries behind.
The Galvin Middle School Student Council is collecting non-perishable food items from today through November 23rd. If your kids send in a few items, they will get to sign a feather on the Galvin Gobbler Bulletin Board. Thanks also the Wakefield Patch for publicizing this effort!
