The McCarthy Senior Center in conjunction with the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry recently opened a “Quick Stop” market at the senior center. The Quick Stop market was set up as a new service to Wakefield’s seniors to help them obtain food and other supplies when money or time is tight.
The Council on Aging/McCarthy Senior Center provides information, services and social activities to the citizens of the community 60 years of age and over. The senior center is a vibrant social facility with different activities happening daily. Exercise programs offered help increase strength and flexibility. Educational programs provide the latest information on subjects ranging from legal and financial planning to health insurance advice. Entertainment, dining and social functions promote socialization.
