Help your Wakefield Neighbors by Organizing a Food Drive in 2016

Any resolutions for 2016?  Here’s one:  help your Wakefield neighbors — and have fun by organizing a food drive.
Food Drives are a  great way to make a difference in the lives of the people in our community — and have a little fun on the way!

Organizing a food means you’d work with your school or your local group or your employees/customers to pursue food donations — and you can even make it more fun by adding a little friendly competition. Some ideas include offering  a prize for the neighborhood or person or family that brings in the most food items or donates the most money to benefit Food Pantry clients.

You and your group would be an excellent company. Food drives are also organized by the Wakefield High School Marching Band (yep– they donated about 10,000 items in 2015!), the Wakefield High School Hockey Team (upcoming food drive on January 31) , local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, The Lions Club, and the Wakefield School of Dance — just to name a few. Mind you, the need is great, so we’re always looking for additional groups to organize food drives.
Specifically, we’re pursuing groups to organize food drives on these dates:
Saturday, February 13
Saturday, February 27
Saturday, March 26

We look forward to working together. Please send an e-mail to aine.cryts@gmail.com and we’ll discuss next steps. It’s easy, fun and so very important to our town! Thanks in advance!
