Back to School and Back to Food

Fall is in the air. The kids are back to school. And, we have an urgent need to stock our shelves.

We’ve begun our 2nd and 4th Saturday food drives which are supported by many town organizations and individuals throughout the year. On Saturday, September 13 the Wakefield Marching Band took the lead and helped us collect and sort food. Please come by the Pantry and drop off your food donations.

We also have donation boxes at the Town Hall, the Police Station, Walgreens as well as the Greenwood and Lakeside Savings Banks. Our library is getting into to the mix and has set up a receptacle for non-perishable food items soon. How convenient! Drop off or pick up books and leave your groceries behind.

Our most needed items at this time are:
• Peanut butter
• Brand name cereal (boxes)
• Jarred Spaghetti sauce
• Instant Coffee
• Mayonnaise
• Canned Soup (large)
• Soap (bars)
• Baking Goods (mixes)
• Reusable bags

Toiletries are also needed including toothbrushes, toothpaste, bath soap, shampoo.

Financial donations are very much appreciated. Through our partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank, we have the unique opportunity to buy food for our clients at a significantly reduced cost.

Please contact us for food or financial donations by calling: 781.245.2510 or emailing us at: Thank you.

  1. The Wakefield High School Marching Band came to my door to collect food for the Food Pantry. It is so nice to see a group of kids taking the time to go door-to-door. I was happy to help them out.
